Two Denimaniac favorites, Danish fashion label Libertine-Libertine and Dutch denim store Tenue de Nîmes have come together to produce a collaborative limited edition denim shirt based on the Libertine-Libertine Hobo. The design feature details like the check-lined collar and cuffs and the subtle white Tenue de Nîmes cross embroidery on the right front of each garment. Available through Tenue de Nîmes for €120,-.

Burkman bros. Spring 2011

The Burkman bros. are known to travel to a new destination in the world to get inspired and design the new collection each season. For spring 2011 they headed to the fishing villages on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, where they found the perfect setting for their east meets west sensibility. The collection includes a vast assortment of men’s bottoms – engineered placement yarn dyes, textured and colorful dobby fabrics, plus some cool prints – while the fit of the shirts combined with Bb’s strength in print and pattern continues to deliver plenty of newness. EDUN Fall 2010

The fall 2010 EDUN men’s collection is inspired by pieces you might find in an artist’s closet. Classic waffle tweed woollens take modern shape in a military jacket worn with a released hem pant featuring raw, fluid edges to make for a relaxed worker silhouette. The statement piece this season is the surface treated cotton, military trooper parka. An ideal layering piece over a crinkled poplin shirt and sheer cotton Henley paired with a waffle tweed trouser. The naturalist color palette ranges from denim in Rothko Granite, jackets in Clay and Moss, and cotton jersey shirts in Rain Heather and Dusty Black. The jeans are finished to emulate oil layers and quartz, influenced by Rothko paintings. Overall, this collection explores finding beauty in imperfections, much in the way artists are inspired by the irregularities in nature.

Under the creative direction and design of David Mullen (founder of Save Khaki), classic American button-down shirt brand BD Baggies unveils a collection that has been completely modernized in terms of concept, style and product without leaving its heritage behind. The BD baggies project returns to the American origins of the brand for the upcoming spring season, and continues with its new project of “fine American basic”. The collection is noteworthy for its ever-lighter weights, particularly in cotton, linen and poplin. The big novelty is in the large range of check designs that go from baby check to madras, linking it to the very soft garment-dyed line and to classic men’s-shirt designs. The new line of garment-dyed jersey and cotton-fleece in 16 different colours is an absolutely new departure. Costumes in nylon and oxford and scarves in piece-dyed jersey are just some of the really interesting accessories created with that special BD feel. The BD collection is designed in the USA, and produced from 100% pre-laundered cloth which has a lived-in look and an unmistakable appeal. “A shirt wearable naturally as a tee”. After its initial success in Europe, S/S 10 will see its launch in the U.S.A. and Japan.
