Other than following this blog, the best way for you to familiarize yourself with next spring/summer trends is taking a look at Sir Paul Smith‘s S/S 2010 jeans collection. From folklore to floral, bold graphics to brightly colored denim – all mixed together in a nonchalant humoristic way the brand’s known for – the Brit master’s collection packs them all(most). But although our undivided appreciation for the collection and the label, looking through past PS ‘Jeans’ collections we can’t help but think of Barack Obama’s words: “It’s Time For Change”.

What is it about Wes Anderson’s movies which inspire so many in the fashion industry at the moment? We’ve seen his work influence Blue Blood’s S/S 2010 and now it appears he also made his mark on the Paul Smith jeans A/W 09 collection, according to the brand’s press release. But if Blue Blood took his cinematic looks and transferred them directly into the garments, Paul Smith went for a more subtle form of inspiration and used Anderson’s color palette to draw on within the collection. The rest is staying true to the essence of past jeans collections and why not? You don’t change horses while crossing a stream…

As if created especially for us denim maniacs, this new holdall bag by Paul Smith is a cool proclamation for the denim fanatic. Although actually printed with a sailor’s uniform print, it echoes with vintage denim feel. Can you get over the posh price (230£) head here.

I’ve been a fan of Paul Smith for quite a long time. For me his collections embody the essence of English style, but in a modern way with a great sense of humor. Guess which one out of four lines he produces for men is my favorite? You’re right – Paul Smith jeans.
