The Spring/Summer 2012 season not only celebrates a new collection for Italian denim label Meltin’Pot but a continual and exciting life journey for the brand, encompassing all aspects from retail – with the opening of the first Meltin’Pot pilot flagship store last month in Riccione, Italy (denim store) – through to an exciting and extensive communications strategy and a new seasonal collection for denim connoisseurs.

The SS2012 collection is broken down into different themes for men and women, for example: the MP001 WORKWEAR with 3 styles of jean, which are workwear inspired, but in a contemporary Meltin’Pot way. J.Crew SS11

In the words of one of our favorite bloggers, James from Secret Forts: “J. Crew’s spring ’11 collection is a playbook in new classics, old favorites, smart layering, crisp fabrics, textural and tonal mixing.” We couldn’t sum it better. Nautical and workwear inspirations mix together in a collection which is toned down and refined, presented with the sophisticated styling of J.Crew’s top-man Frank Muytjens. As always, denim is featured heavily throughout the looks, given a crumpled treatment for a summer ease.

Lanvin x H&M Menswear

Soon to be in stores (23rd November to be exact), the much hyped about Lanvin x H&M capsule collection can already be seen here. The menswear collection, from Lanvin’s men’s designer Lucas Ossendrijver, brings together a wardrobe of updated classics with tuxedos made for daywear and jogging pants adding a sporting twist. Hunting and Collecting Fall Winter 2010

You know how much we love a good lookbook and Brussels-based shop Hunting and Collecting certainly provides one for fall/winter 2010. Featuring a selection of their (and our) favorite labels like Rag and Bone, Libertine Libertine and Opening Ceremony x Levi’s, the lookbook manages to capture the outdoorsy mood of the season although shot entirely on location at the store. Won Hundred SS11

Won Hundred’s ss11 collection is inspired by a study of long black silhouettes created by different objects that cast a deformed shadow. Like walking in the sun, when your silhouette looks two meter long in the shadow that falls on the pavement. These elongated lines are a red thread throughout the collection.

Another important inspiration is the Danish artist Thorvald Bindesbøll, known for his minimalistic translation from oriental art. His ceramics make a bold and colorful statement, but also a refined almost flowery impression. Danish art and design is known for integrating oriental influences in their work, exactly as how Won hundred has been inspired for this Spring/Summer.

The men’s collection is a clean cut, simple but elegant wardrobe. Key items are the traditional t-shirt and jeans. This in combination with longer Mac-like coats and bomber jackets. Sharp tailored suits with a slight cropped leg, make a statement this spring. Traditional Japanese inspired indigo checks and stripes make the shirt collection come alive in super soft washed out cottons. Also washed down sweat and pilled jersey make the minimalistic look softer and more subtle. Some bold front prints, with a slight ethnic feel make the look complete.

BRING ON THE NOISE Autumn/Winter 2010

Established in early 2007, Japanese men’s clothing label BRING ON THE NOISE has been quietly making a name for itself since. Inspired by music and counterculture, founder and designer Daisuke Konno creates a look fit for rebels with an advanced sense of style. Upon the launch of the label’s autumn/winter 2010 lookbook we asked Konno to tell us about the new collection and his future plans for the label.

Can you describe your creative process? What inspires you?

For this collection, I began to reconsider an underground culture in Tokyo again and went to various live houses to feel the atmosphere and look for something special.

Usually I take inspiration from variety of things like old photo books, vintage clothing, and fliers you can find at musical venues, as well as other things. Anything with a musical element is always inspiring.

Your new AW10 collection “Tokyo Rockers” is out now. Can you tell us about it?

Rock scene boom lost its momentum in the late 1970′s. Bringing about a breakthrough, musicians gathered and played gigs continuously in many parts of Japan. This movement is called “TOKYO ROCKERS”. The season theme is the movement spawned in the late 1970′s and early ’80′s, dawn of Punk. The brand pursues originality no other brands can create.

What are your goals for your brand?

I’d like people in the world to see and feel my collection in their hands!!! I hope I could have my own store in New York in the near future!

Stephan Schneider AW10

Stephan Schneider’s lookbook for the AW10 collection entitled ‘Furever’ is out now, and as expected we love what we see (remember the making-of video?). Schneider’s strength lays in his ability to reinterpret and contemporize classic menswear – kind of like what we see from Margaret Howell – and that the Belgian designer does beautifully. The collection is understated and elegant with a focus on relaxed tailoring, quality fabrics and an odd detailing, such as the fur trimmings. Take a look.

H&M Men's Fall 2010

H&M shows some pretty strong menswear pieces for the upcoming fall, and we thought we should acknowledge that. Outerwear is key, in tweed, wool or cotton, as well as tailored jackets mix and matched with suit pants or raw denim jeans for a more casual look. We particularly love the heavy shawl collar knits and the updated Henleys which correspond well with the outdoorsman trend of the season. Colors are muted and kept to tones of grey and beige, camel and deep blue. Overall, the collection runs on the basic side, leaving behind excessive patterns and prints, allowing for heavy accessorizing without losing the clean sophisticated look.
