Let’s begin with the gorgeous ‘Voyager’ lace up boots by Japan’s Nonnative. These rugged beauties are crafted in aged rich brown suede with a thick heavy rubber sole. The boots fasten with 8 eyelets and a dark brown waxed lace, the tongue is contrasting brown leather and there’s a strong pull tag at the back of the heel. Handmade in Japan from Italian cow leather these are made up to last at least as long as you do, which is comforting, considering their hefty price of $1470. Get them here.

Verginia Footwear is a brand brought to us by Japanese designer Hiroshi Takahashi‘s High Bridge International Company. The Croute Shoe is a low cut version of the timeless Dessert Boot design with overall quality and attention to detail as you would expect from our Far Eastern friends. Sydney-based designer Gareth Moody was first known for being a founder of the brand Ksubi. After six years with the company, Moody made the decision to go solo and created his brand Chronicles of Never, which includes men and women’s clothing, footwear, and accessories. Sleek, clean, and thought-provoking, the brand is influenced by mathematics, architecture, and geometrics – all in correspondence with a certain dark mood(y). My top favorites from CON’s A/W 09 footwear collection are the shoe and the boot (see above), which will render any outfit the final “kick”.

As I told you before, my shoe fetish knows no satisfaction. I try to tame it, but as the song say: “too much of anything is never enough”, and you must admit that a question of need is a question of taste. I saw these Shofolk harry low ankle boots on oki-ni and I asked myself “what have I done to deserve this?” With their rich coffee colored suede and contrasting white rubber sole and laces – it’s a sin! But look at my hopes, look at my dreams – I never thought I was so flamboyant. So “don’t worry” I said to the guy who pays my rent, “I won’t though I could“, ’cause I know – left to my own devices, I probably would… and now the question is “how am I gonna get through?” They are always on my mind. Well, I guess Se a Vida E’ (that’s the way life is)…

Edwin and Folk are two labels we’re really fond of here at Denimaniac; the first for its genuine jeans, and the next for their cool hand-made looks. You can guess how happy we were to learn about their collaboration for S/S 10. Together they have created a range of footwear pieces designed to complement the Edwin collection – taking the strongest elements from Folk’s flair for creating modern, classical footwear while incorporating classic denim detailing. We just can’t wait till we put our hands on their blue(‘s) shoes!

Oops they did it again! Oki-ni always manages to source those gems that are so hard to find… This time it’s beautiful Mountaineering Boots by small Italian company Fracap. They are made by hand in a small factory in Italy and tightly distributed in Japan. You won’t find these anywhere outside of Japan other than at oki-ni.com. I just love the contrasting red laces with the grain leather, but I’ll be saving my pennies for those suede ones… get them here.
