Radar | Nigel Cabourn Edgar Indian Drill Holdall

2010 February 18

Nigel Cabourn’s Spring/Summer 2010 collection ‘Burma’ is inspired by the contents of Nigel’s father’s army handbook. He used this as a diary during his time in India and Burma between 1942 and 1945. The photographs his Father J.E.W. Cabourn took on his box brownie camera and the clothing that he wore form the basis of the collection and is a tribute to him and his companions.

One of the stand-out pieces from the master-craftsman’s authentic collection is the ‘Edgar Indian Drill’ holdall. Made from dead stock 1942 British army Indian khaki Drill cotton (an authentic WWII fabric) and premium tan leather trim, this bag has one large internal compartment, it fastens with a heavy duty khaki zip and has both carry handles and a long shoulder strap. Available here.
