In today’s denim world heritage is a key word for a market obsessed with vintage wares (in a crisis atmosphere you gaze back romantically to the good ol’ days). Those who have it flaunt it, and those who don’t try to replicate it, or win other paths to the denimista’s heart. Wrangler is of the former, with a rich past in denim history. After the success of Levi’s and Lee‘s archives, it has also aired its vaults and figured it’s time to revive the Blue Bell sub-brand.

Blue Bell’s A/W 09 collection relies on the brand’s iconic past but is aiming at a modern, contemporary way of wearing jeans. The 50-piece range is dominated by vintage detailing while keeping the cuts original. Five new fits and one denim jacket are introduced – all made from superior materials and complimented by matching tops, catering for an edgy, fashionable total look.

Will Blue Bell manage to hop on the vintage/heritage joy ride like its competitors did? it remains to be seen… meanwhile take a look at images from the brand’s new catalogue.
